Football Game #2

Our first home game was on Friday, Sept. 5 vs. Arlington HS Rebecca met us at our house and we walked to the game like usual. Sequetta joined us too! All of a sudden the sky started getting really dark. By the time we got to the field, guess what happened? Yep, you guessed it, a lightning delay! We waited near the gate for a while and the Rebecca decided to go home. We could tell it was going to be another long night. It felt like it was about to pour down rain so Sequetta and I ran to find someone with a car. We ended up sitting in the Palmers car for over 30 minutes and it never poured, just sprinkled. Jason was at the other end of the field with the pit crew people this whole time. I found out that they were letting people in the school so we went inside. Senior Breakfast 2016

Wednesday morning my school had our annual senior breakfast. All of the graduating seniors that went to elementary school at my school came back for a visit. After they ate, they put on their caps and gowns and paraded through the hallway. It was really special! I had 5 of my former students come back. They will do great things! We also had all three of the principals I have worked for while at Timber Creek attend the breakfast. Dr. Heier (2013-2016)), Dr. Martin (1996-2008) and Mrs. Abshier (2008-2013) When will that ever happen again?

Labor Day Percussion/ Band Rehearsal

On Labor Day, September 1, these hard working percussionists were practicing on the football field when a rainstorm blew through. The front ensemble immediately got their instruments to safety under the stands. Jacob called me and asked for all the beach towels I could carry. I got soaked walking from my car to the fence to throw the towels to him. Shortly after that the sun came out. The parents served the kids dinner in the time between percussion rehearsal and band rehearsal. We decided to set up under the stands just in case the rain came back. We had hamburgers grilled by the Palmers, chips and dessert. Look how wet Jacob's shirt got! Later that night parents got to watch the band practice.
